Who can apply

  • Open to people from Bangladesh, Belize, Botswana, Dominica, Eswatini, Fiji, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Grenada, Guyana, India and 31 more
  • For Master's study
  • Candidate applications are scheduled to open in early November 2026; the exact date has not yet been published.
  • The list of approved 2027–28 courses is due in November 2026.
  • Applicants must apply separately for admission to an approved university course.
  • Applicants must be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country and unable to afford UK study without the award.
  • A lower second-class degree may qualify when accompanied by a relevant postgraduate qualification.
  • Scholars must return home before their UK visa ends.
