Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and Wonderlabs Limited (“Japper”, “we”, “us”) when you use japper.app, the Japper app, our Telegram and WhatsApp channels, and anything else we run. Please read them; they’re written to be read.
1. What Japper is, and isn’t
Japper is an AI immigration assistant. It helps you find the ways abroad you may qualify for (study and work routes, scholarships, sponsored jobs and visas) and helps you plan the steps. We collect information from official and other sources, show where each fact came from and when we last checked it, and keep it up to date as best we can.
Japper is not a law firm, an immigration adviser, a recruitment agency, a university or a government body. We don’t submit applications for you, we don’t represent you to any authority, and we can’t influence any decision.
2. Information, not legal advice
Everything Japper shows you, including what Jappy (our AI guide) says, is general information to help you understand your options. It isn’t legal, immigration, financial or tax advice about your situation.
- Rules change, sometimes without notice. Always check the official source before you act; we link to it.
- Jappy’s answers are produced automatically. They can be incomplete or wrong, even when they cite a source.
- “Fit” shows how your answers compare with a route’s published requirements. It isn’t a prediction or a promise of an outcome.
- For advice on your own case, talk to a licensed advisor. You can book one on Japper.
More in our disclaimer.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 to create an account.
- Give us accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You’re responsible for what happens in your account.
- One person, one account. Don’t share it or use someone else’s.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings, or by writing to us.
4. Membership and payments
You can use parts of Japper for free. A Japper membership unlocks everything described on the membership page for the period you pay for, one year or one week. We show the price in your currency before you pay, including any tax we have to charge.
- Payments are taken by our payment providers (such as Stripe or Paystack on the web, and Apple or Google in the app). We never see or store your full card number.
- Some features have fair-use limits (for example voice minutes and document checks each month). The current limits are shown in the app.
- Where your payment method allows it, membership renews each year (yearly plan) or each week (weekly plan) at the price we show you before it renews. You can turn off renewal at any time in Settings; you keep membership until the end of the period you paid for.
- If a payment fails, we may pause member features until it’s sorted.
- We may change prices for future periods. We’ll tell you before a change affects you, and you can cancel before it does.
Refunds. You can have a full refund of a membership payment within 14 days of paying on the yearly plan, or 48 hours on the weekly plan (your latest weekly payment), with no questions asked. See the refund policy. This doesn’t affect your rights under consumer law where you live.
Purchases made in the Japper app through Apple or Google are also subject to their terms, and they handle refunds for those purchases.
5. Advisors
Advisors on Japper are independent, licensed or regulated professionals (for example immigration advisers, lawyers and study counsellors). They are not employed by Japper.
- Before an advisor gets a verified badge, we check their licence against the public register where one exists, and we recheck it regularly. A badge means we did that check; it isn’t a guarantee of the advice.
- When you book, your agreement for advice is with the advisor. They are responsible for the advice they give you.
- You pay for sessions through Japper. Never pay an advisor, or anyone else, outside Japper for a session booked on Japper.
- Reviews can only be left by people who completed a session with that advisor.
- Cancellations and refunds for sessions follow the terms shown when you book, and the refund policy.
6. Partner offers
We sometimes show offers from partners, such as English test preparation, student loans or insurance. Each is clearly labelled, and we may earn a fee if you use it. Your agreement for the offer is with the partner, not with Japper.
7. Community and messages
Members can join communities (for example on Telegram) of people making a similar move. To keep them safe and useful:
- Be kind and respectful. No harassment, hate or threats.
- No selling, spam, or asking anyone for money, documents or personal details.
- Japper will never ask you to pay for a visa in a chat. Anyone who asks for visa money in a community is removed.
- Don’t pretend to be Japper, an advisor or an official.
- What you post can be seen by other members. Don’t share things you want to keep private.
We may remove messages and people who break these rules, and leave communities when a membership ends.
8. What you give us
Your answers, documents and messages stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Japper for you: for example to build your plan, check a document you ask us to check, or answer your questions. How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy notice.
Only upload documents you have the right to share, and never upload someone else’s documents without their permission.
9. Using Japper fairly
- Don’t use Japper for anything unlawful or to deceive any authority, university or employer.
- Don’t copy, scrape or resell our content or data in bulk, or try to get around our limits or security.
- Don’t try to reach parts of Japper you aren’t allowed into, or interfere with it working for others.
10. Our content
Japper’s design, text, software and brand belong to us or our licensors. You may use Japper for your own move. Facts from official sources remain theirs; we link to them.
11. Changes and availability
We work to keep Japper available and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or complete for every country. We may change or stop features; if we stop something you paid for, we’ll give you a fair refund for the part you can’t use.
12. Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms, we’re responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We aren’t responsible for:
- decisions made by governments, universities, employers or other third parties;
- the advice or services of independent advisors or partners;
- loss caused by relying on information without checking the official source, or by things outside our reasonable control;
- business losses (Japper is for personal use).
Where the law allows a limit, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or takes away your rights under consumer law where you live.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using Japper and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or is used for fraud. Where we can, we’ll tell you why first. If we close your account without good reason, we’ll refund the unused part of your membership.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Japper changes or the law requires. We’ll tell you about important changes before they apply, by email or in the app. If you don’t agree, you can close your account before they take effect.
15. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of the country where Japper’s operating company is registered. If you live somewhere else, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
