Foreign citizens studying at an accredited higher education institution in Serbia can apply for temporary residence. A permit can be issued for up to three years, depending on the reason for the stay.

Serbia employment visa and single residence and work permit
An employment-based visa D allows a foreign citizen to live and work in Serbia for up to 180 days. For longer employment, or where a visa D is not required, the single permit combines temporary residence and permission to work and can be issued for up to three years.
