Settle in
Have your stay registered
When you arriveThe person or accommodation provider hosting you must register your stay with the competent authority within 24 hours of providing accommodation or your arrival for a visit.
Attend your biometrics appointment
If the permit conditions are met, attend the scheduled appointment at the competent police office in person to provide biometric data.

Where it leads
Temporary residence can be extended if the grounds for it continue. If the holder later changes their residence grounds, only half of the time spent on study-based residence counts towards the three-year residence requirement for permanent residence.
